Report: CRE Compensation, Hiring Remain Strong

According to the newly released 2018 SelectLeaders Hiring Trends Survey Report, 75 percent of real estate professionals reported year-over-year revenue growth in 2017, with as much as 31 percent achieving more than 10 percent growth. Compensation levels are also strong, with 62 percent of respondents reporting that their compensation had increased in 2017 and 69 percent expecting increases in 2018.

And, these compensation increases were significant. Nearly a third of respondents received more than 10 percent more compensation in 2017, and 18 percent saw their compensation increase by more than 20 percent. Hiring remained stable, which may explain why 63 percent of job seekers describe themselves as “passive.” Rather than actively search for jobs, most job seekers set up “job alerts” and create profiles to allow employers to search for them. Likewise, only 23 percent of job seekers apply to a job immediately, with most saving the job for later or doing more research first.
