Survey: U.S. Commercial Real Estate Sector Expected to Be Resilient in Recovery

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the U.S. economy has been stunning, but a late-breaking survey conducted by the Urban Land Institute (ULI) indicates a potential light at the end of the tunnel for the commercial real estate sector. The positive-leaning outlook is derived from the median responses of 39 industry economists who suggest that U.S. real estate market fundamentals and values are poised to fare much better than they did in the 2008 global financial crisis. Optimism aside, ULI warns that the “many unknowns of a global pandemic should temper our views and expectations.”
