A Year-End Message from Julie Palmer-Nicholson

A Year-End Message from Julie Palmer-Nicholson

President, BOMA Fort Lauderdale/Palm Beaches

What an exciting and productive year we’ve had. As we close 2025, I’m proud of the momentum we’ve built together and energized for what’s ahead.

This year, we strengthened our relationship with Nova Southeastern University as part of our long-term succession planning. From exploring an internship program to participating in their career fair and speaking with students about careers in property management and the trades, we’re laying important groundwork for the future of our industry and our association.

BOMA Day 2025 sold out quickly—as it will again in 2026. Mark your calendars for April 16, 2026 at Jacaranda Golf Club, with sponsorship details coming early in the new year.

We also brought back our summer bowling event with a Tacky Tourist theme, offered education and professional development through luncheons, PM and Engineering breakfasts, Emerging Professional events, and launched a new Back to Basics series through our Education Committee.

In September, we hosted our first annual tradeshow—a tremendous success for our associate and property management members, complete with $3,200 in giveaways.

And WOW—what a TOBY night. We celebrated 17 building entrants, honored 15 building and individual winners, and expanded our scholarship program to award a total of six scholarships in 2025. With 456 attendees, an incredible performance by mentalist Guy Bavli, and a lively after-party, it was truly a night to remember.

We closed the year with a focused Board planning session focused on succession planning, Emerging Professionals, new event ideas, and a fiscally sound 2026 budget—ensuring we continue to provide valuable education and opportunities for all members. Thank you to every member, volunteer, and partner who contributed to an outstanding year. I’m deeply grateful for your involvement and look forward to another exceptional year ahead in 2026.

Warm regards,
Julie Palmer-Nicholson, RPA President, BOMA Fort Lauderdale/Palm Beaches
